I am a Metro Detroit graphic designer with a Bachelor of Integrative Studies from Oakland University (2016).  My other secondary schooling includes three associate degrees from Macomb Community College (2014)(2015)(2015). There I learned the Adobe Creative Suite and expanded my skills that I began cultivating in high school. While attending a large high school, I had the opportunity to work on the school newspaper, learning layout and design and submitting spreads for competition. My innovative designs garnered awards from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association, giving me the motivation to cultivate this into a career (and what a fun career at that!).  Not only educated in the techniques of graphic design, I furthered my knowledge in design and art history, mixing my love of history with the thing I get to do every day.
Being a Graphic Designer and Front-End Developer at a small agency, I have met deadlines, creatively designed projects, and developed clients’ visions to reality. My one associate degree, Collaborative Media, put me on the path learning how to create websites, layout brochures and other print products (my absolute favorite), and create logos for brands. I thoroughly enjoy the layout aspect of design – it is like taking pieces of a puzzle and placing them together to create a final product. From my time as a Copy & Print Associate at Staples, I was able to learn about printing and the multiple aspects to taking a design from conception to print, which has enabled me to give insight to my team at the agency.  Using all aspects of my knowledge, I have successfully transitioned from the world of the classroom, to the real work world.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading – especially about history, but I sprinkle in some other genres too. This makes all my travels, in the states and abroad, much more fun and meaningful; seeing the real places changes the perspective of the events and brings the history to life!
